Day 1: Arrive in Broome

Arrive in Broome & spend the rest of the day unwinding and exploring the local highlights Broome has to offer. Marvel at the sweeping white beaches, rich red outcrops and blazing turquoise water of Broome’s spectacular coastline including stunning Cable Beach.

Depending on your interests, spend the afternoon learning about Broome’s rich pearling history or participate in some of the great activities including a sunset camel ride or watch a movie at the famous Outdoor picture theatre (officially the worlds oldest).

Day 2: Broome to Bell Gorge (Imintji)

Begin your Kimberley adventure by driving out toward Derby and joining the Gibb River Road. An adventurous day exploring the famous gorges of the West Kimberley. Explore at your own pace and marvel at the natural landforms such as Windjana Gorge (an ancient underwater reef that is now above ground) Tunnel Creek (tunnel with waist high water so bathers and torch required) and Bell Gorge (one of the most spectacular gorges in the Kimberley). You will cap off an adventurous day with a hot shower and three course dinner at Bell Gorge Wilderness Camp with its licenced bar and outdoor dining area.

Day 3: Bell Gorge (Imintji) to Mornington Wilderness Park

Today has you travelling into the geographic heart of the Kimberley to some of the best gorges in the whole north west around Mornington. Follow the 4WD track to the wilderness retreat of Mornington Wilderness Park. This part of the Kimberley is little known in the mainstream but is the highlight of most peoples trips. The scenery and gorges are unforgettable. The facilities and staff make it a must visit destination. In addition to tented accommodation there is also a licenced bar.

Day 4: Around Mornington Wilderness Park

A full day to explore Mornington Wilderness Park. Spend the day exploring the Kimberleys most beautiful gorges including Dimond Gorge with its spectacular towering cliffs and awe inspiring colours. Sir John Gorge: with great scenery & swimming in beautiful clear water, with its moderately easy walks as well as a 20km walk along the gorge if interested and appropriately prepared. Beautiful sunsets great walks and the option to canoe up Dimond Gorge will make today one of the highlights of your trip to the Kimberley.

Day 5: Mornington to Mount Elizabeth:

Depart Mornington and head towards Mount Elizabeth along the Gibb River road at whatever time of the day suits. Your departure time will depend on what time you want to arrive at Mount Elizabeth and which of the stunning attractions you want to explore along the way. Choose to visit, relax and swim at Galvans Gorge, Manning Gorge or Adcock Gorge. You’ll be supplied with all the information you need to make the decision on the day. An early start allows you to arrive into Mount Elizabeth Station mid afternoon where you can relax, unwind and experience true outback hospitality and a real life cattle station.

Day 6: Mnt Elizabeth to El Questro.

Today has you leaving Mount Elizabeth Station and heading down the Gibb River Road crossing the mighty Pentecost River (be careful) and turn into El Questro the world famous 1 million acres cattle station that has been made into a wilderness park. Opportunities abound to enjoy spectacular scenery, swim, bushwalk or fish for the mighty barramundi.

Day 7: Around El Questro

A full day to relax and explore the awesome attractions and things to do at El Questro Station. There are all sorts of station activities including flights to exclusive gorges, heli-fishing, gorge cruises, horse-riding and bushwalks. El Questro Gorge is the most spectacular walk in the park making its way through narrow and shear cliff faces, clear rock pools and tropical rainforest.

Day 8: El Questro to Kununurra.

Today depart El Questro and head towards Kununurra at whatever time of the day suits depending on what you want to experience at El Questro , Kununurra or along the way eg Parry’s Lagoon Nature Reserve. Detour up to Wyndham and the stunning Five Rivers Lookout, visit The Grotto Swimming hole or Boab Prison Tree. Depending on what time you arrive in Kununurra and your interests check into your accommodation and spend the afternoon relaxing or choose to visit some of the excellent local galleries and exhibitions.

Day 9: Around Kununurra (optional Mitchell Falls or Argyle Diamond Tour)

A full day to relax and/or explore the stunning attractions aroun Kununurra. Depending on your interests choose between a number of world class attractions including Lake Argyle & the Ord River or the spectacular scenery and bushwalks of Keep River National Park. Alternatively choose a guided tour into the Mitchell Falls or the Argyle Diamond Mine. (extra Cost)

Day 10: Kununurra to Bungle Bungles

Depending on your interests and how you spent yesterday, spend some time exploring the nearby attractions including Lake Argyle & the Ord River before heading down the highway to the Bungle Bungle National Park. The drive into the Park is an attraction in itself. Several open creek and river crossings and inspiring scenery make this a great 4WD drive. Depending on what time you arrive into the Bungles begin exploring some of the stunning walks.

Day 11: Around Bungle Bungles

A full day to relax and explore the simply awesome Bungle Bungles. A short drive to the start of the walk to Cathedral Gorge gets you up close to the widely photographed beehive domes . Cathedral Gorge is incredibly stunning with its towering beehive cliff faces and cold pool of water fringed by a sandy beach. Later in the day you have the option to drive the full length of the Bungles to Echidna Chasm, Homestead Gorge & Mini Palms Gorge where you will experience a very different aspect on the Bungles.

Day 12: Bungles to Fitzroy Crossing

A free morning to relax and take in the gorgeous sights and sounds of the Bungle Bungles before heading out of the park and off down the Great Northern Highway to Halls Creek and then onto Fitzroy Crossing. On arrival in Halls Creek around lunch time spend some time exploring its 2 main attractions China Wall & Old Halls Creek. Take the opportunity to take a break before the 300km drive to Fitzroy Crossing.

Day 13: Fitzroy Crossing to Broome

Spend the morning exploring around Fitzroy Crossing before continuing your journey along the Great Northern Highway to Broome. A recommended detour is to travel up to Geikie Gorge and explore another example of the wonders of the Devonian reef. After arriving into Broome late afternoon return your vehicle and check into your accommodation. Package assumes you will return the vehicle at the same time as pick up on day 1.

Day 14: Depart Broome

Mitchell Falls

Fly over the magestic waterfalls and wilderness to the Mitchell Plateau. Then a 4km walk to the falls where you will enjoy a picnic lunch, returning to the airstrip by helicopter. Then reboard your aircraft to return. Cost: A$1549 C$1549

Lake Argyle Ord River Cruise
