Bluey Travel
What does Bluey mean?

Pronounced Blue’ē, it means the collection of possessions carried by a person travelling in the Outback.

Australian Dictionary in 1899: “There’s the everlasting swaggie with a bluey on his back who is striking out for sunset on the never-never track”.

In the early days you needed food & water to travel in the Outback, these days you need a vehicle and the right information. Our business was created to help people who want to travel through the outback independantly (Self Drive). The obvious name for our business was Bluey.

** The word bluey is also used to refer to a person with red hair.
