Overview

This homestead provides a pleasant setting to relax in Western Australia’s King Leopold Ranges. The Driveway is 50 km long and you need to allow an hour to travel it’s length. Prior bookings are recommended and you need to contact Mount Hart using the radio in the hut at the start of the property located just as you turn off the Gibb River Road.

Mt Hart has comfortable accommodation in single and double rooms in the two homesteads. There is a stone sitting room complete with open fire for those cool nights in June & July, large verandahs fully fly screened, a central sitting room with tea and coffee facilities and an excellent library with Australian books.

The rooms are not ensuite but the bathrooms are very close by with 24hr lighting. The dining room and kitchen are only a few short steps away in a separate building offering you true quality home cooked meals, fresh-baked bread every day, fresh fruit straight from the trees in the garden, and more importantly, genuine bush hospitality – learn what it is like to live in the remote Kimberley of Western Australia.

Things to See and Do

The station has 10 acres of beautiful gardens, and includes a beautiful waterhole for overnight guests, opportunities exist for canoeing, bird-watching, fishing, painting, photography and self-guided bushwalks.

Helicopter charters, scenic flights and heli fishing to Walcott Inlet Isdell Gorge and Bell Gorge, Horizontal waterfall are available. Fly in fully airconditioned comfort from your own personal helicopter, landing for a bush walk or swim in a asecluded freshwater pool.
