Suggested Itinerary

Day 1: Perth to Nambung National Park (Pinnacles) - 257km

After picking up your vehicle and supplies begin your Perth to Exmouth holiday. The initial 257km trip north takes you to the region known as the Turquoise Coast through market gardens, fabulous farming scenery and extensive ocean views. Over 200,000 people visit the area annually visiting world class attractions such as the fascinating Pinnacles Desert. Spend some time walking around these statuesque limestone pillars rising out of the sand like ancient ruins. In the afternoon explore the attractions along the coast north of The Pinnacles including Dynamite Bay which forms almost a perfect circle. Jurien Bay is the largest coastal town and offers wonderful beaches protected by the islands and reefs which lie just a few kilometres from the shoreline.

Day 2: Nambung NP (Pinnacles) to Kalbarri - 438km

Today has you heading north to Kalbarri. Driving through Geraldton (you will have time to stop and explore around Geraldton on the way back). Spend the morning driving towards Gregory with quick stops at the Lynton Station Ruins and the amazing Pink Lake along the way. This afternoon take the time to explore the striking coast south of Kalbarri. The lookouts, beaches, headlands and walking tracks along this compact stretch of coast are remarkable. Choose from 10 available options depending on your interests (each have something unique to offer). A relaxing evening at Kalbarri township lookout out over the mighty Murchison River.

Day 3: Kalbarri to Shark Bay (Monkey Mia) - 374km

Departing Kalbarri, today has you driving to Shark Bay & Monkey Mia. The bottlenose Dolphins are best seen tomorrow morning so today is all about exploring the attractions along the way. Spend the morning exploring Kalbarri National Park with its stunning lookouts and striking geology including highlights such as Natures Window and Z-bend Gorge. From Kalbarri National Park drive the 350km to Denham exploring the majestic Shark Bay World Heritage Area visiting world famous Shell Beach and the Stromatolites along the way. Views from Eagle Bluff and a tour of the fantastic Ocean park Aquarium cap off a great day.

Day 4: Shark Bay to Coral Bay - 556km

Spend the morning at Monkey Mia, globally recognised as one of the best and most reliable places for dolphin interaction in the world. Feeding the dolphins at Monkey Mia is one of the great experiences, however please note not everyone gets to feed a dolphin and very strict controls apply. After your interaction with wild dolphins begin the long 550km drive to Coral Bay and the wonderful swimming holes and snorkeling sites of central Ningaloo Reef.

Day 5: Around Coral Bay

Spend the day exploring the pristine beaches and abundant coral at Coral Bay. In contrast to other locations the coral starts right at the water's edge and offers very easy access to swimmers and snorkelers of all ages. Self guide the reef or take a guided tour on a glass bottom boat or even a day trip to swim with Manta Rays (year round) or Whales Sharks (seasonal). One of the great experiences along the WA coast is spending the time exploring around Coral Bay.

Day 6: Coral Bay to Exmouth - 150km

A full day to relax and explore Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area between Coral Bay and Exmouth. Spend the morning walking out to the shark nursery and then driving up to Exmouth with a quick detour to the stunning road side lookouts of Cape Range National Park. Decide if you want to stay in Exmouth or continue the journey around the North West Cape to one of the campgrounds located on the western beaches. Where you stay tonight will depend on how you plan to spend your day tomorrow.

Day 7: Around Ningaloo Reef

Spend the day exploring the North West Cape / Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area. Ningaloo Marine Park is Australia's most accessible fringing reef system. Explore the pristine beaches and snorkel sites of this world famous marine park at Turquoise Bay/Oyster Stacks and swim at the simply stunning Sandy Bay. Alternatively base yourself out of Exmouth and spend the day swimming with Whales Sharks (seasonal), following the Humpback Whale Migration (seasonal) or take a day trip to the outer reef and swim with the Manta Rays (year round) - Tours will require you to be based in Exmouth.

Day 8: Exmouth to Carnarvon - 367km

A free morning around Exmouth and Ningaloo Reef before beginning your journey south to Carnarvon. Your departure time will depend on what time you want to arrive in Carnarvon and which attractions you wan to visit and explore along the way. A great way to spend the afternoon is actually not to drive into Carnarvon, but rather take the detour north to Point Quobba “The Aquarium” and the Blowholes. Fantastic attractions and both worth visiting. Point Quobba “The Aquarium” as the name suggests is a calm lagoon with an abundance of fish. Great snorkeling site. Spend the night at the Point Quobba campground or drive back into Carnarvon.

Day 9: Carnarvon to Geraldton - 480km

Today has you driving from Carnarvon to Geraldton, Your departure time will depend on what time you want to arrive in Geraldton and which attractions you want to visit at these two locations or along the way. The attractions between these 2 locations are limited however the historic hamlets of Greenough and Walkaway are worth exploring especially if you are a history buff. An early arrival into Geraldton allows you the opportunity to spend the afternoon exploring its cathedral and museums including the excellent HMAS Sydney Memorial or lazing on Geraldton’s white sandy beaches and turquoise water. For the more energetic windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, diving and swimming are popular choices.

Day 10: Geraldton to Perth - 423km

Today has you driving from has you driving from Geralton back to Perth via the inland route. Your departure time will depend on what time you want to arrive in Perth and which attractions you want to visit along the way. Package price assumes vehicle will be returned to the depot before 4pm.
